COST PER STUDENT PARTICIPANT:  $40 - Registration is still open, but must be done in person on Friday, Feb. 23. Please arrive between 6:30pm-7pm.  Please make checks payable to NCYB

This event is led by high school students, young adults & adult leaders from the ELCA churches in our conference.   

There will be awake adult overnight staff and an adult with every small group whenever the group is out in the community.  Students and young adults under 25 will not transport children or themselves to any location as part of this event.   Parent help will be needed especially driving to service projects on Saturday and during the overnight.  Please use the “parent help” section of the registration form if you are available to help.   

WHAT TO BRING:  

  • Bible 

  • Sleeping Bag and Pillow 

  • Pajamas/appropriate sleepwear/toiletries as needed  

  • Coats-appropriate for traveling between activities 

  • Snack to share at the Snack Food Buffet! 

  • A servant’s attitude!!!

WHAT NOT TO BRING: 

  • ANYTHING OF GREAT VALUE OR ANYTHING THAT DISTRACTS YOU AND/OR OTHERS FROM LEARNING ABOUT & SERVING LIKE JESUS 

      (i.e. cell phones, Ipods, headphones, games, cards, toys, etc.) 

 

EVENT SCHEDULE

  • 4:30pm-5:00pm - Student Leader Dinner/Room Preparations
  • 5:00pm-6:00pm - Student Leader Training
  • 6:30pm-7:00pm - Participant check-in
  • 7:00pm-7:30pm - Small Group Time
  • 7:30pm-9:00pm - Music and commissioning with Shawn Smith
  • 9:00pm – 10:00pm - Small Groups, Pictures & Snack Food Buffet
  • 10:00pm–11:30pm - ACTIVITIES –Small Groups Choose: Bowling at Christian Center, Board Games, or a movie
  • 11:30pm – Quiet time in Small groups
  • Midnight – Lights Out
  • 8:00-8:45 AM - Breakfast
  • 8:45-9:15 - Pack up rooms
  • 9:15-10:00 - Rise & Shine Time with Shawn Smith
  • 10:00-4:00 - Small group rotations for service projects, Bible study, and games. Take Sack Lunches
  • 4:00-5:15 – Debrief the day, rest, clean up sleeping area
  • 5:15 - Closing Dinner at Salem (participants only)
  • 6:00 - Closing Program

 

Note:  The 7th & 8th graders will move to Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville for their overnight and service projects. 

            They will return to Salem by 4:00pm Saturday.  The closing dinner on Saturday night is for participants only – Families are  

 encouraged to come to the Salem sanctuary at 6:00pm on Saturday for the closing program. 

Reminder:  Shawn Smith will be our musical guest.  He will have CDs, shirts and songbooks on sale following the closing program.
