RENEWING GOD’S HOUSE THROUGH LEARNING AND GROWING: Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
I find it personally hard to “go and make disciples of all the nations.” I admire missionaries who can go into a foreign country, or even another area of the U.S., and evangelize. I’m not afraid of foreign travel or even talking to people I don’t know. In fact, my children tease me that I talk to everyone. But, I find it hard to talk to people who don’t already know God and Jesus. We also need to remember the second verse, “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Isn’t it comforting to know that God will be right there with you when you are afraid to put your faith out there for all to see and maybe reject?
If I am going to help Salem grow, I am going to have to learn to “go and make disciples.” We can probably all be more intentional about sharing how God has worked in our lives, how He answers our prayers, and inviting people to join us in worship at Salem. As with most things, it will get easier the more we do it. Especially if we remember that God is right there with us, loving and encouraging us.
Dear God, Please help me be better at sharing my journey to You with those who may be skeptical or disbelieving. Help me to encourage them to come worship with us at Salem where You are doing such good things. Amen.
