Advent and Christmas 2023

STAY AWAKE!

Advent

Celebrate Christ's coming on Sundays!

SUNDAY WORSHIP,
through DEC 17, 8:15AM / 10:45AM
DEC 24, 10AM

On Sundays, the candles in the Advent wreath will count the weeks to celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas. The wreath and winter candle-lighting amid growing darkness strengthen some of the Advent images revealed in the Bible. The unbroken circle of greens is an image of everlasting life, a victory wreath, the crown of Christ, or the wheel of time itself.

The four candles mark the progress of the four weeks of Advent and the growth of light. Christians use the wreath as a sign that Christ reaches into our time to lead us to the light of everlasting life.

Celebrate Christ’s coming at Salem Lutheran Church on Sunday mornings!
